JOHN ROTHBERG -- Vice President
BACKGROUND
John Rothberg grew up in the family business. Since the age of five, John was around heavy equipment. During summer breaks from school, John worked hand in hand with his father, Lou, and several of the foremen. In June of 1974, he began work full-time as a laborer and heavy equipment operator. At the age of 22, he became a foreman and began running jobs from milling and paving roads to sitework for new homes and buildings in the private, commercial and public sectors.
In 1987, John Rothberg became the general superintendent overseeing the activities of seven foremen on a daily basis. John was also responsible for all scheduling of jobs, including manpower, equipment, and materials need for each job. He was also involved in estimating and meeting with customers.
In 1995, John Rothberg was promoted to Vice President of L.N. Rothberg and Son Inc. and a general superintendent was hired to allow him to concentrate on overseeing the entire company. This change has allowed John to meet with the customers and grow L.N. Rothberg into the company it is today.
TODAY
Today, as Vice President of L.N. Rothberg and Son Inc. with 34 years with the company, John oversees the day to day operation of the company, keeps up with changes in the industry, and maintains quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
TRAINING AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS
He is OSHA 40-hour Hazmat trained, completed Project Management classes at Middlesex Community Colleges, and participated in various seminars including the Con-Exp Construction Seminar and ConAg Seminar. John Rothberg has donated land and equipment to construct the little league fields and Billion Park in Bound Brook, NJ. He has also served on the planning board as a Board Member for the Borough of Bound Brook. In addition, he is the past president and chairman of the Board for the New Jersey Chapter of the Land Improvement Contractors of America.
AWARDS AND RECOGNITIONS
John Rothberg has been recognized by the NJ Chapter of Land Improvement Contractors of America as the 1996 Contractor of the Year, the NJ Chapter of American Subcontractors Association as the 2006 Subcontractor of the year, and the NJ Chapter of Land Improvement Contractor of America, 2006 Contractor of the Year.
